Players return to training

Pre-season got underway at Emirates Riverside on Monday (6 November) as the players reported back for duty, with preparations beginning for the 2018 season.

Chris Rushworth, James Weighell & Stuart Poynter were among the group who reported for a tough first session back after five weeks off following the conclusion of the 2017 campaign.

Training kicked off in the Emirates Riverside gym with a series of capacity & strength tests before moving into the indoor school for part two.

That consisted of speed & power assessments followed up by the infamous yo-yo test.

The session was overseen by the strength & conditioning staff, Joel Brannigan & Sam Clark, while Jon Lewis & Neil Killeen were also keeping a close eye on proceedings.

Lewis’ squad will undertake an intensive six-week regime leading up to Christmas which combines gym & conditioning work with indoor cricket practice.

Watch below for some highlights of the first day back in the office!
