Graham Clark plundered a maiden Newtown & Chilwell CC hundred in the ongoing Geelong Cricket Association first grade encounter with Murgheboluc at the Stinton Oval.
The 24-year-old scored 115 from 148 to anchor the home side to a score of 294/8 off 85 overs.
Coming to the crease at 56/2, Clark’s carefully crafted knock included six fours & one six, putting on 115 for the fifth wicket with Cooper Bingham.
The two-day fixture concludes this weekend as Murgheboluc chase down the hosts’ score.
Cameron Steel has also been in good form for Claremont Nedlands CC in the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade.
After making 64 in the T20 competition, Durham’s Breakthrough Player of the Year followed up with 65 in a comfortable victory over Mount Lawley.
Chasing 247 all out, Steel was involved in a 112-run opening stand to put his side in pole position & preserve their unbeaten start to the season through six games.
Opening partner Jacob Whiteaker scored a ton & Nick Hobson, who has previously played for Durham’s Second XI, scored 96.
New signing Nathan Rimmington’s excellent first grade form has resulted in selection for a Queensland XI to take on England Lions, starting on Monday.
Rimmington will go head-to-head with new team mate Mark Wood at the Allan Border Oval after taking 29 wickets in nine first grade matches for Sandgate-Redcliffe.
He was denied the opportunity to improve upon that record last weekend when rain ruined their fixture against Wynnum/Manly.
