Day 4: Durham 520, Lancashire 347 & 298/8
Durham Seconds had to settle for a draw at Northern against Lancashire in their ECB 2XI Championship fixture.
Lancashire resumed the final day on 46/1 with Durham leading by 127 and Durham got the day underway with some tight bowling.
Stanley McAlindon got the opening wicket of the morning when he bowled Harry Singh to dismantle his middle stump.
George Drissell picked up back to back wickets with Ross Whitfield in the action for both scalps taking two catches at short leg, as Lancashire found themselves 83/5 and still trailing Durham.
Despite a positive morning session for Durham, an 114 run partnership between George Balderson and Matthew Hurst put Lancashire in the lead, but that was broken when Hurst was run out for 52 by Nathan Sowter.
Durham soon had their 7th when Arav Shetty hit one straight up to Ben McKinney first ball, as McAlindon bagged his second. With Lancashire adding just 19 runs before the 8 wicket fell when Josh Boysdon was pinned lbw to give McAlindon his third.
Although wickets had been falling around him George Balderson stood firm with a resilient 91 from 184 balls as Lancashire held on for the draw, closing on 298/8.
Stanley McAlindon was the pick of the Durham bowlers with 3/40, George Drissell (2/78) and Matt Salisbury and Nathan Sowter bagging one wicket apiece.
Day 3: Durham 520, Lancashire 347 & 46/1
187 from Jonathan Bushnell put Durham Seconds in a strong position going into the final day of their Championship fixture at Northern.
Resuming day 3 on 260/3, Jonathan Bushnell and Tom Mackintosh brought up their 50 run partnership just 30 minutes into the penultimate day.
Bushnell who enjoyed day 2 with the bat moved onto 150 within the hour on day 3, with 4 runs off Josh Boyden as the Lancashire lead moved below 50.
Four through the covers brought up the Durham 300 as Bushnell and Mackintosh continued to move closer to Lancashire’s score of 347.
It took 207 balls for the pair to reach the 100 partnership as Durham passed the Lancashire total, still 4 down.
Bushnell eventually fell for a superb 187 from 314 balls which included 20 fours and 2 sixes.
Luke Doneathy (65), Nathan Sowter (50) and Tom Mackintosh (45) all contributed valuable runs with the bat as Eppleton were bowled out for 520, leading by 173 runs.
In reply Nathan Sowter picked up the wicket of Joseph Fielding for 18, as Lancashire closed on 46/1 trailing Durham by 127.
Day 2: Lancashire 347, Durham 260/3
Jonathan Bushnell closed day 2 unbeaten on 128 supported by 81 from Ross Whitfield as Durham Seconds ended day 2 at Northern in a strong position against Lancashire.
It took Durham an hour to claim the final 4 Lancashire wickets as they bowled the hosts out for 347 in 109.3 overs.
Durham struck 8.1 overs into day 2 when Stanley McAlindon dismissed Subhaan Mahmood when he was caught behind for 69.
McAlindon picked up back to back wickets in back to back overs to finish with 4/61 as he had Liam Hurt caught in the slips for 4.
Ollie Gibson then picked up the final two wickets to get rid of Shetty and Morley as Lancashire were bowled out for 347.
Gibson finished with 3/53, while Nathan Sowter and Luke Doneathy were also in the wickets.
Durham lost both openers cheaply in reply with Ben McKinney (4) and Jamie Crawley (14) as Durham were reduced to 25/2 in their first innings, but Ross Whitfield and Jonathan Bushnell took Durham past the 100 mark and steadied the ship for the visitors.
With Durham going into tea on 132/2 trailing by 215 runs. Bushnell brought up his half century in 104 balls with 5 fours and 1 six with Ross Whitfield bringing up his 50 shortly after the tea break from 103 balls.
The Durham duo shared an 194 run partnership for the third wicket as Bushnell played a superb drive through the covers to bring up 100 in 163 balls.
Ross Whitfield supported Bushnell throughout the afternoon but was pinned lbw for 81 to give Liam Hurt his first wicket of the day.
Tom Mackintosh joined Bushnell, with the pair seeing out the rest of the evening session with Durham closing on 260/3 and trailing by 87.
Bushnell finished unbeaten on 128 from 208 balls going into day 3.
Day 1: Lancashire 290/6
A sixth wicket stand of 130 between Subhaan Mahmood and Joseph Fielding put Lancashire in a strong position on Day 1 of their ECB 2XI Championship fixture against Durham at Northern Cricket Club.
Lancashire put on 51 for the opening stand as Harry Singh and George Balderson batted an hour and a half in the first session without losing a wicket.
Balderson was the first wicket to fall of the morning as Luke Doneathy dismissed 21-year-old for 26 caught by Ross Whitfield.
Singh then added a further 76 for the second wicket with George Lavelle, Singh falling for 47 caught behind to Mackintosh, as Stanley McAlindon was in the action.
McAlindon struck in back-to-back overs clean bowling George Bell for 5, with Lancashire 137/3.
Nathan Sowter who is currently still on loan with the club from Middlesex and playing in his first red ball game for Durham pinned Matthew Hurst lbw for 0, as Durham claimed 3 wickets for 9 runs.
Sowter soon struck again when George Lavelle chipped one to mid on to Matt Salisbury, with Lancashire 146/5, however a 130 partnership between Subhaan Mahmood and Joseph Fielding took Lancashire to 276/6 before Ollie Gibson dismissed Fielding for 70.
The hosts closed day 1 on 290/6.
