Durham are in Rothesay County Championship action at Banks Homes Riverside for the first time in 2025, hosting Warwickshire tomorrow from 11am.
Ryan Campbell has named a squad of 14, including Brendan Doggett and David Bedingham as Durham look to bounce back from defeat against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
Doggett is in line to make his first-class debut for Durham having arrived earlier this week, whilst Bedingham has returned from South Africa and will make his first appearance of the season.
Daniel Hogg is also in contention to face Warwickshire after returning to action for Durham Second XI this week whilst Callum Parkinson and Mitchell Killeen drop out of the squad.
Warwickshire picked up a draw against Sussex in round one, claiming 14 points and currently sit fifth in Division One.
Words from Ryan Campbell
I’m really excited to be back on home soil. This is a great opportunity for us to bounce back fast. Hopefully we have lived and learnt from the opening round. Warwickshire will come up here and be another good challenge for us, hopefully on home soil where we have a pretty good record we will put our best foot forward.
I thought we did amazingly well to get 370 odd [against Nottinghamshire], Colin Ackermann was outstanding and a few blokes got starts but we didn’t nail it. We put the ball in the right areas and I think we beat the bat 67 times or so, but the facts are, we then ran out of puff and our fast bowlers couldn’t stand up.
The guys have been buoyed by the arrival of our two overseas players. I’m really looking forward to having David [Bedingham] and Brandon Doggett in the team because they bring a wealth of experience and exciting skills.
We are looking forward to welcoming our members back after a good turnout for the University game and I’m sure there will be lots of familiar faces. I’m looking forward to a packed house over the weekend and hopefully we can reward them with a win.
