14 named for first #Blast17 away game

Durham Jets head coach Jon Lewis has named an unchanged 14-man squad for the first away match of this year’s NatWest T20 Blast at Lancashire Lightning (2:30pm start).

The Jets travel to Emirates Old Trafford aiming to chalk up a first #Blast17 win after defeats on home turf.

Paul Collingwood & captain Paul Coughlin put in standout performances in front of the Sky cameras on Thursday but could not prevent a loss to Leicestershire Foxes.

The 41-year-old’s wily collection of slower balls earned him figures of 4/24 while Coughlin added a career-best 42* with the bat.

The Jets are aiming to get their season up and running against the Lightning, who ran out winners on Emirates Day to open up this year’s Blast campaign at Emirates Riverside.

Jos Buttler’s quickfire 59 underpinned the visitors total of 192/6, which proved too much for Coughlin’s side to chase.

Cameron Steel & Gareth Harte could make their T20 debuts & Barry McCarthy is the other member of the squad who did not face the Foxes.

Live commentary of the match is available via the BBC Sport website with updates on the club’s official Twitter feed.
