Paul Collingwood will play his final fixture for Durham County Cricket Club this week (starting tomorrow, Mon 24) as Jon Lewis’ side face Middlesex at Emirates Riverside.
In his 306th first-class game, the moment has come for Mr Durham to say goodbye to the club’s supporters and members as the 42-year-old captains DCCC for the final time.
Lewis has named a squad of 14 for the fixture, making one change to the side that lost to Leicestershire at Grace Road last week with Will Smith (calf strain) replaced by Ryan Davies.
Durham will be hoping to finish the season with a win but all eyes will be on Collingwood as he looks to add to his 30,614 runs for the club and potentially add to his 35 first-class hundreds.
Smith who picked up a calf-strain against Leicestershire will be replaced by Davies who scored an impressive 142 at Scarborough against Yorkshire 2nds last week.
Squad vs Middlesex (24-27th September)
Paul Collingwood (c), Cameron Steel, Alex Lees, Ryan Davies, Graham Clark, Gareth Harte, Michael Richardson, Stuart Poynter (wk), Mark Wood, Nathan Rimmington, Barry McCarthy, Matt Salisbury, Chris Rushworth, Ben Whitehead
