The hosts won the toss and chose to put Durham in to bat. The decision paid dividends immediately as Steven Green opened with a wicket maiden, having Jonny Bushnell stumped second ball. Hayden Mustard managed two boundaries before being dismissed for nine by Green in the third over, leaving Durham 12 for two.
Opening batter Ben McKinney and captain Liam Trevaskis shared a 46-run partnership, including two maximums from the latter. Liam Naylor put an end to Durham’s third wicket stand and brought about a cluster of wickets when he dismissed Trevaskis for 28.
This put Durham 58 for three and Scotland A took a further four wickets for the next 10 runs as Harry Crawshaw, Luke Doneathy, Ben McKinney and Mitchell Killeen were all seen off. With seven down, Ross Whitfield arrived to partner George Drissell.
The pair produced Durham’s best stand of 48 with Whitfield going on to level Trevaskis’s score of 28, featuring 2 fours and one six. He was out in the 17th over, as was newcomer Daniel Hogg.
Drissell continued with further aggression as he top-scored for Durham with 36 featuring two fours and a six. Brandon Glover hit one over the ropes to help Durham 2XI reach 141 before being bowled out with four balls remaining.

The Scottish side began well with the bat striking 24 runs from the opening two overs before Killeen delivered a double wicket maiden. Trevaskis removed Rory Johnston on the first ball of the fourth over to crank up the pressure on the hosts.
This introduced former Durham player Jamie Crawley who starred for the hosts, relieving the pressure as he scored an unbeaten 82 from 48 deliveries with nine fours and four sixes.
He watched partners Tamoor Ahmad and Finley McCreath depart to Daniel Hogg and Drissell before Bushnell picked up Naylor as a consolation wicket with three runs left to win.
