With the side on a high after qualifying for the Friends Life t20 quarter finals, Durham will go back to red ball cricket for the week-end, taking on Middlesex at Lords in a LV=County Championship match starting on Friday August 2nd.
The side have not played a 4-day fixture since the start of July where they defeated Derbyshire at home to go 3rd on the County Championship table with 129.5 points.
This week-end’s fixture is set to be an appetizing affair with Middlesex also looking to move up into the top two, currently sitting on 125 points just 4.5 points behind Durham in 4th position.
Middlesex have hosted Durham eight times in the LV= County Championship, each time at Lord’s. Durham have just the one win whilst Middlesex have won four times, with three draws coming in the last three clashes.
Durham will be boosted by the return of Captain Paul Collingwood who has been side-lined since the end of June with a thumb injury.
Graham Onions will also be back in the Durham side after England squad duties and will play his first LVCC match since mid-June to bolster the Durham pace attack.
