Bancroft makes Big Bash bow

Cameron Bancroft made his return to professional cricket during Perth Scorchers’ ongoing Big Bash League campaign in Australia.

The right-hander made his seasonal bow against Hobart Hurricanes on 30 December, taking up the gloves in place of the injured Josh Inglis.

After scoring 2 in the first innings coming in a number 5, Bancroft took two catches including an excellent diving grab to remove Matthew Wade.

In his second game, the 26-year-old smashed a huge six before falling for 19 against Sydney Thunder.

Bancroft warmed up for the tournament in the Western Australia Cricket Assocation First Grade competition, racking up third-most (413) runs in the competition so far.
