The event marks a significant step forward for women’s cricket, with Durham Cricket’s new women’s team becoming the only top-tier professional women’s sports team in the North East. It’s a thrilling opportunity for fans to be part of this historic journey and support a pioneering team that will represent the region with pride.

The team will bowl their very first ball at 10:30 am, on Wednesday 23 April, against Essex, and the club is encouraging sports fans of all ages to join in and be part of the occasion. This exciting debut is set to be a game-changer for women’s sport in the region, and the club is calling for the support of the entire North East community to make the day unforgettable.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Durham Cricket is hosting a huge Family Fun Day, offering a full day of entertainment for all ages. The club’s Everyone Active Family Zone will be packed with games and activities for children of all ages, ensuring a fun-filled day for the whole family. The event will also feature a fan zone, where attendees can enjoy live music, a variety of food and drink, and the electric atmosphere that comes with a top-class sporting event.

In addition, to mark this historic occasion, every attendee will receive a special commemorative badge as a keepsake of the day. It’s a fantastic way to remember being part of this pioneering moment for women’s sport in the North East.
