Ben McKinney plays his part in big Burnopfield win, latest NEPL roundup

With the North East Premier League season now underway, throughout the summer we will recap the Durham players in NEPL action,

Ben McKinney played his part in in a high scoring win for Burnopfield who cruised to a 9 wicket win over Chester le Street at Front Street – going up against Luke Robinson who was in the Chester le Street side. Although  John Oswell’s 171 was the highlight of the Burnopfield win, McKinney’s unbeaten 67 was crucial in Burnopfield’s first win of the season.

Haydon Mustard donned the gloves for Benwell Hill who were playing Newcastle, he took two catches before making 21 from 16 deliveries as Benwell Hill finished off a close encounter to win by two wickets at Denton Bank.

Mitchell Kileen was in action for Burnmoor against Felling, finishing the game with 37 from 35 balls batting at number 4, before taking 2/11 from four overs as Burnmoor ran out as comfortable winners.

Off-spinner George Drissell took to the field for Sunderland against Tynemouth, scoring 29 opening the batting before picking up two wickets from seven overs as Tynemouth won by four wickets.

Ollie Gibson played for Shotley Bridge in their game against Seaham Park picking up one wicket as Seaham Park easily chased 116, winning by eight wickets.
