Haydon Mustard makes 46 before a pair of wickets for both Mitchell Killeen and James Minto keep Durham in the contest on day two against Yorkshire.
Yorkshire began the day by picking up a trio of wickets with Thomas Bradley taking two in two balls before Benjamin Cliff had Jonathan Bushnell caught off a leading edge to leave Durham 46 for four in Scarborough.
Cliff took his second of the day, finding Christian French’s edge on eight. Haydon Mustard and Luke Symington responded with a 60-run partnership to rebuild, taking Durham to 119.
Mustard made 46 from just 37 balls, striking seven fours and a six on his way to Durham’s top score of the innings before being dismissed by Dominic Leech.
Bradley struck twice quickly again, claiming the wickets of Symington for 22 and Mitchell Killeen. Robbie Bowman and Brandon Glover put on 50 together for the ninth wicket, Bowman scoring 24 and Glover 29.
Yorkshire wrapped up the innings for 181 as Cliff and Alex Wade took the final two wickets, taking a first innings lead of 23.
Killeen made a fast start with the ball, finding the edge of both Tom Fraine and Yash Vagadia inside the opening seven overs to reduce the White Rose to 12 for two. Jack Brassell picked up a third in the 15th over, having Harry Duke caught at slip.
Noah Kelly and Will Bennison had a partnership worth 107 for the fourth wicket before James Minto struck twice in three balls to leave Yorkshire 151/5, removing Kelly for 74 in the process.
Matt Milnes made 19 before Glover had him caught behind. Dominic Leech shared a 50-run stand with Bennison to end the day as the latter closed on 89 not out with Yorkshire leading by 258 with four wickets remaining.

Brandon Glover takes a five-wicket haul as Durham Second XI enjoy the better of day one against Yorkshire in Scarborough.
Stanley McAlindon won the toss and chose to bowl first, making a fast start as Brandon Glover arrowed one into the top of Yash Vagadia’s off stump in the fourth over.
Jack Brassell and Mitchell Killeen claimed a wicket each inside the opening 20 overs to leave Yorkshire 57 for three, Tom Fraine departing to the former for 32. A partnership of 36 was shared to steady the ship.
Callum Gaffney had Will Bennison caught to put an end to the fourth wicket stand in the 31st over before Glover ran through a youthful White Rose middle order.
He dismissed Harry Duke for 29 in the following over, the first of four wickets in as many overs for the Dutch international.
Glover went on to claim the wickets of Jawad Akhtar, Joe Thompson and Charlie Taylor as Yorkshire were reduced to 106 for eight, having lost five wickets for 13 runs. Glover took figures of 5-51 in 16 overs.
Ben Cliff and Alex Wade fought back for the hosts as they shared a stand worth 73; the latter was bowled by Gaffney on 27. Sebastian Hughes-Piñán wrapped up the Yorkshire innings in the 67th over, having Josh Hoyle caught at slip with Cliff unbeaten on 52.
Jonathan Bushnell and McAlindon opened for Will Gidman’s side and faced two overs before play was stopped for bad light.
A further eight overs were managed before the close of play with Durham scoring 32 for the opening wicket; McAlindon edging the penultimate ball of the day behind to Duke as Yorkshire lead by 172.
