Burnham back for Glamorgan

Jack Burnham makes his return to the squad for tomorrow’s Specsavers County Championship match against Glamorgan at Emirates Riverside.

The 20-year-old could make his second Championship appearance of the season after recovering from a broken thumb picked up in the nets.

He is likely to slot back in the number three position, with Cameron Steel back up to open as Keaton Jennings misses out through England Lions duty.

Steel scored a maiden first-class century in his last match at Emirates Riverside & will face the new ball alongside Stephen Cook, who plays his last game before joining up with the South Africa Test squad.

Durham are going in search of their first Championship win of the season after narrowly missing out in tight finishes in the three previous attempts.

Last over defeats in the away match against tomorrow’s visitors & home match with Northants were followed with an agonising draw at Kent, falling one wicket shy after dominating the four days.

Debutant Matty Potts made a strong impression & almost had the final wicket of Yasir Shah, & the youngster could make his home debut.

He faces competition from fellow all-rounder James Weighell, who has missed the last two matches through a shin injury.

Paul Coughlin could also play after being rested at Kent, with his last performance at Emirates Riverside producing career-best figures in a maiden ten-wicket haul.

Squad vs Glamorgan (19-22 June): Paul Collingwood (c), Stephen Cook, Cameron Steel, Jack Burnham, Michael Richardson, Graham Clark, Ryan Pringle, Paul Coughlin, Stuart Poynter (wk), Matty Potts, James Weighell, Barry McCarthy, Chris Rushworth, George Harding
