Bushnell, Mackintosh, Gibson & Drissell extend Durham deals

Durham Cricket are pleased to announce that four of the clubs up and coming talent have signed deals ahead of the 2023 season.

Jonathan Bushnell, Tom Mackintosh and Oliver Gibson have all signed their first professional deals with Durham having progressed through the club’s academy and pathway system.

George Drissell has also put pen to paper on a new one-year contract extension having joined Durham last winter from Somerset – the 23-year-old went onto play in all three formats for Durham throughout the 2022 campaign.

Bushnell and Mackintosh both scored maiden first-class half centuries on their debuts while Oliver Gibson claimed a best of 2/25 against Sussex in a Durham win at Seat Unique Riverside.

The newly extended deals will see Bushnell, Mackintosh and Gibson continue to play their cricket a Seat Unique Riverside until at least the end of the 2024 season.

Director of Cricket Marcus North said: “We are really pleased these talented young players have committed their future with us at Durham Cricket.

“I have been very impressed with the progress of all four of these cricketers who have all made their first team debuts this summer.

“I look forward to watching them continue to develop and perform in 2023.”
