Carse & Potts heading to UAE with England Lions training camp

Matthew Potts and Brydon Carse will be part of England Lions training camp in the United Arab Emirates from November 6-27.

Potts will be part of a 15-player England Lions training squad who will take on England Men in Abu Dhabi on November 18 from November 23-25 – as England Men prepare for their Test series against Pakistan.

Brydon Carse will be part of a pace bowling group with Jofra Archer and Saqib Mahmood  who will continue their rehabilitation from injury in Abu Dhabi with the England Lions.

As well as offering developmental experiences to the players selected, the trip will support England Men’s Test preparation for Pakistan with five members of the Test squad arriving ahead of the Test tour.

CB Performance Director Mo Bobat said: “It’s great to be able to recommence Lions developmental experiences and the camp in Dubai and Abu Dhabi represents a fantastic opportunity for a high potential group of players.

“While we aim to ensure that Lions opportunities are closely aligned to England’s future needs, we also try to be as individualised as possible with our player programming. Selection for the camp was conducted in close collaboration with both players and counties, and there are a number of players that have been encouraged and supported to take up other opportunities at home and overseas.

“The camp also supports the England Men’s team in their preparation for Pakistan, allowing England and Lions players to work closely together in overseas conditions.”
