Champagne Moment of the Season: 2018!

Voting is now open for the Eden Mill Champagne Moment of 2018!

Durham’s supporters will decide the recipient of the award via Twitter poll, with the winner announced during Thursday’s Player of the Year evening.

There are three nominees for the award & voting is available using the poll below (please note – this will take you to Twitter’s site).

Liam Trevaskis

Need to defend six off the final over? Send in Liam Trevaskis.

The left-arm spinner delivered the most incredible of final overs against Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford.

After inducing false strokes from James Faulkner & Danny Lamb, the latter stumped, Matty Parkinson’s hoik to Will Smith in the deep left the Lightning needing a six to win off the final ball.

Toby Lester could only find mid-off for one, completing a stunning turnaround victory in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

James Weighell

Durham’s first win after being asked to follow-on was inspired by James Weighell’s magnificent performance.

Not only did a knock of 38 in the second innings help build a defendable total, the right-armer then ran through Leicestershire’s batting order in the final session on the fourth day.

His haul of 7/32 came in just 9.5 overs, sparking memorable scenes on the Emirates Riverside outfield when trapping last man Varun Aaron LBW first ball.

Chris Rushworth

In the Specsavers County Championship game against Sussex earlier this month, Chris Rushworth achieved the distinguishable honour of passing 400 first-class wickets for the Club.

He completed the feat in style, removing Harry Finch’s off stump en route to first innings figures of 8/51.

The pace bowler backed it up with 4/49 in the second innings.
