Durham Cricket are pleased to announce the signing of West Indian fast bowler Chemar Holder for their remaining three Vitality Blast County Championship games.
The West Indies quick will be available ahead of Monday’s game against Lancashire at Seat Unique Riverside and joins Durham as a replacement for Neil Wagner after his stint was cut short with a shoulder injury.
A tall right-arm fast bowler, Holder took two wickets on his Test debut, when the West Indies toured New Zealand in December 2020 – before adding an ODI cap a month later in Dhaka, during the Bangladesh ODI series.
He earnt a call up for his national side after shining for his hometown Barbados in the 2019/20 season with 36 wickets in eight matches- including match figures of 11/92 against Jamaica.
In 27 first-class matches, the right-arm seamer has 89 wickets with a quintet of five-wicket hauls and has previous County Championship experience with Warwickshire in 2021.

“With international call ups and a number of injuries, it was extremely important to bring in an additional seamer and we are pleased to have secured a bowler of Holder’s quality.”
On joining Durham, Holder said: “It feels very good to be a part of Durham and to be playing county cricket for a second time.
“Once I step on the field, I always put my best foot forward and leave everything out there. I will put my all into the upcoming games and am looking forward to this opportunity.
“I can’t wait to get started if I am selected this week and give my all for Durham.”
