Collingwood penalised under ECB code

The ECB Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) today confirmed that Paul Collingwood has received a penalty under the ECB’s directives.

Collingwood was reported by umpires Peter Hartley, Jeremy Lloyds and Martin Saggers during Durham’s NatWest T20 Blast Quarter-Final against Gloucestershire on 10 August 2016, for a Level One breach of the code (bowling a fast short pitched ball and/or accidental high full pitched ball that results in the bowler being disallowed from bowling any further in that innings).

Collingwood previously received three penalty points following a Level 2 breach in July 2015 (showing serious dissent at Umpire’s decision by word or action). The penalty for a subsequent breach at Level 1 within 24 months is three penalty points. Collingwood therefore now holds six penalty points.

This penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
