Durham (333/7; Coughlin 76, Poynter 77, Rimmington 54*) beat Lancashire (205 all out; Davies 106, Coughlin 4-36) by 128 runs.
Josh Coughlin produced an excellent white-ball performance for Durham Seconds against Lancashire, which involved scoring 76 from 90 balls, taking four wickets and grabbing an impressive run out.
The 21-year-old’s heroics helped the D’s to an emphatic 128 run victory at Chester Boughton Hall alongside skilled performances with the bat from Sol Bell (53), Stuart Poynter (77) and Nathan Rimmington (54*).
After setting a commendable target of 333/7 from their allotted 50 overs, Lancashire’s run chase started poorly when Ed Fluck was dismissed in the second over by Jack Campbell.
However, Lancashire opener Alex Davies batted extremely well to score 106 from 128 balls but was eventually removed by Coughlin who also picked up three more wickets to end with figures of 4-36.
Rimmington (2-25) added to his impressive performance with the bat with two wickets and Faizan Hussain grabbed two scalps to finish with 2-39; both limiting Lancashire to just 205 from 41.3 overs.
