Durham Cricket are delighted to announce that exciting prospect Daniel Hogg has signed a three-year contract with the Club, running until at least the conclusion of the 2027 season.
Hogg has put pen to paper on his first professional deal following a breakthrough 2024 campaign where he stunned Seat Unique Riverside with a seven-wicket haul on his first-class debut.
The 19-year-old’s first-class bow came against Nottinghamshire where he finished with eight wickets in the match.
He took the tenth wicket in the visitors’ first innings before taking figures of 7/66 to inspire Durham to an innings victory.
The Durham Academy product made his Durham List A debut in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, with his maiden professional wicket coming against Hampshire at South Northumberland.
The right-arm seamer has played four first-class matches for Durham in 2024 alongside his two List A appearances and claimed 12 wickets.
Hogg has been a regular throughout the Durham pathway and Academy system, progressing from the Durham under-13s team into the professional set up.
After signing his first professional deal, Hogg said: “I am absolutely delighted to have signed this professional deal.
“It is a really exciting time, and it is nice to know that Northy [Marcus] and Cambo [Ryan] are backing me for three years.
“Making my first-class debut for Durham was a dream moment, I have recapped over that day plenty of times and hopefully I can contribute more of the same next season and put in winning performances for Durham.”
Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “We’re extremely delighted that Daniel has signed a long-term contract with his home county.
“At only 20, Dan has shown us so much in his debut season, and we look forward to supporting his development and providing opportunities here at Durham.
“We are incredibly proud of our player pathway and Dan is another product who has progressed onto a professional contract.
“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Dan and wish him the very best of luck as his cricketing journey continues.”
