Davies plunders century in Scarborough draw

Result: Durham 2nd XI (295; Davies 142, S Steel 66; Leaning 3/15) drew with Yorkshire 2nd XI (492; Leaning 126, Shaw 103; Hussain 2/64)

Ryan Davies smashed a classy 142 as Durham Seconds’ final fixture of 2018 ended in a draw against Yorkshire at Scarborough.

The wicketkeeper struck 18 boundaries & four maximums in a dominant knock during a stand of 134 run stand for the fourth wicket with Scott Steel.

Durham eventually fell short of the follow-on target after Yorkshire racked up 492 on the first day, but early afternoon rain put paid to any chances of a result & the match was declared a draw.

Jack Leaning & Josh Shaw both scored centuries against a young Durham attack, with the wickets shared around the bowlers. Left-arm spinner Fez Hussain finished with 2/64.
