Day 3- Nottinghamshire Second XI 285 & 12/0 beat Durham 119 & 174
Jonathan Bushnell, Haydon Mustard and Mitchell Killeen all make half-centuries on day three but Durham Second XI fall to defeat against Nottinghamshire.
Mitchell Killeen added 11 to his overnight score, passing his fifty before Toby Pettman claimed his wicket. Nottinghamshire enforced the follow on with Durham trailing by 166 runs.
Pettman took the wickets of George Drissell and Paul Coughlin either side of Brett Hutton’s dismissal of Graham Clark as the visitors reduced Will Gidman’s side to 34 for three.
Jonathan Bushnell and Haydon Mustard provided resistance as the pair scored 99 for the fourth wicket, scoring a half-century each. Mustard passed 50 from 66 balls with nine boundaries before Fateh Singh trapped him lbw the following over.
Robbie Bowman and Bushnell then put on 30 together, with the latter driving down the ground to pass his milestone before falling next ball. Singh picked up wickets in consecutive deliveries in the following over.
Durham made 21 further runs, reaching 174 as Pettman and Singh claimed four wickets apiece for the visitors. Nottinghamshire knocked off the remaining 12 required to record victory in Gosforth.
Day 2- Durham Second XI 108/9 vs Nottinghamshire 285AO
Jonathan Bushnell takes three wickets before Mitchell Killeen scores an unbeaten 40 as Durham Second XI endure a difficult second day against Nottinghamshire in Gosforth.
Wet ground conditions in Gosforth meant that play could not begin until 11:30 on day two with 88 overs to be played, following a washout on the opening day.
After George Drissell put the visitors into bat, Benjamin Martindale and Sam King shared a 51-run stand for the first wicket. Stanley McAlindon struck first, having the latter caught behind on 22.
Nottinghamshire made their way to 70 before losing wickets in consecutive overs as Jonathan Bushnell and Brett Hutchinson picked up a wicket apiece. Martindale scored fifty before he was trapped in front by Drissell, with the visitors seven shy of 100.
Dane Schadendorf and Tom Loten put on 123 runs for the fifth wicket, taking the visitors beyond 200 by the time McAlindon had Loten caught in the slips on 43.
Schadendorf reached his century from just 99 balls with 17 fours and a six and went on to score 118 as him and Fateh Singh fell in quick succession to Bushnell and Brandon Glover.
Bushnell claimed a third, having Brett Hutton caught at slip for five. Drissell wrapped up the Nottinghamshire innings on 285, bowling Luke Young before diverting his own delivery into the stumps at the non-strikers end to run out James Hayes.
Toby Pettman and Hutton trapped Drissell and Bushnell in front early before the visitors continued to take wickets. Paul Coughlin fell to Pettman for 21 before Hayes trapped Graham Clark lbw for his first of three wickets.
Hayes dismissed Haydon Mustard for his second before Mitchell Killeen and Robbie Bowman disrupted the flow of wickets with a partnership of 29, taking Durham to 71.
Bowman then fell to the bowling of Singh shortly before Hayes trapped McAlindon for his third. Glover and Will Alexander also fell before the close of play on day two, leaving Durham 108/9.
Killeen provided the most resistance with the bat for Durham as he made an unbeaten 40 from 51 deliveries with five boundaries and will begin day three with Sebastian Hughes-Piñán alongside him, as Durham trail by 177 runs.
Day 1 – no play
No play was possible for Durham Seconds on day one of their final Championship match of the season, as heavy rain overnight and consistent drizzle in Gosforth meant umpires Ian Warne and Bob Eagleton called play at 1pm.
