DCCC return to South North for Leicestershire visit

Durham CCC will be returning to South Northumberland CC for the Royal London One-Day Cup match against the Leicestershire Foxes.

The match on Friday, 5 May will mark the third time the club have played at the Gosforth-based ground in the last four years.

And Jon Lewis’ men will be aiming for a third straight victory, having twice beaten Warwickshire in the previous games at Roseworth Terrace.

The fixture is scheduled to begin at 11 o’clock and gives supporters North of the Tyne a chance to see the county in action in a location close to Newcastle City Centre.

David Harker, Chief Executive of Durham CCC, said: “We are pleased to be renewing our positive relationship with South North.

“Not only have we been victorious on the pitch, the matches have been well attended and the spectator feedback has been positive.

“Planning is already well underway for this year’s match to make it another successful event for the club, South North, members and supporters alike.”

Ex-Durham player Marcus North, now Chief Executive at South North CC, said: “It is an honour for the club to be hosting county cricket and we’re delighted that Durham have chosen to come back this season.

“It is a huge event for the club and planning is already well underway to ensure the match runs as smoothly as in previous years.”
