After the five-week group stage the final four are Chester le Street and Durham Academy from Group A, and South Northumberland and Benwell Hill from Group B.
The Cestrians had already qualified with a week in hand, but the other three places were up for grabs in match day five.
Durham Academy’s win over Stockton rendered Sunderland’s road win at Hetton in vain, with the Academy progressing thanks to a superior run rate.
Group B had a potential for a four-way tie, but wins for defending champions South Northumberland and Benwell Hill gave them a clear path to the Finals Day.
The Finals Day is on Sunday July 24 and will feature two semi finals and the Final. The venue is the home ground of one of the four finalists – this will be decided by NEPL officials this week.
The NEPL Champions have the added incentive of going forward into the ECB National Club T20, which concludes in September with a Finals Day screened live on Sky Sports.
