Durham Cricket and Park View Academy of Sport Cricket Development Centre, Talent ID Day

Durham Cricket and its Foundation have teamed up with Park View Academy of Sport to launch a new Education and Cricket Development Centre, based at Emirates Riverside and will hold a Talent ID open day on Wednesday 28 October at 10am.

The talent ID open day will be for those students looking to join the Academy in September 2021 and will include an indoor cricket net session and strength and conditioning class.

The Cricket Development Centre is part of Park View Academy of Sport’s growing portfolio of successful Sport Academies, which has already seen them team up with other professional sporting clubs, including Carlisle United.

Park View Academy of Sport is part of Park View Sixth form, which gives every student the best possible chance of success as they embark on what is a very exciting step in their life.

The Cricket Development Centre, aimed at 16-19-year olds, will see learners combine academic studies with progression within the game.

All learners receive over ten hours of specialist batting and bowling coaching from Durham Cricket, additional strength and conditioning sessions and access to sports therapy and physiotherapy.

Alongside this, learners will undertake leadership training and qualifications in cricket and supported work experience within the cricketing profession and the recreational game.

The Centre is open for boys or girls who wish to study either A-Levels, Active IQ Fitness Diploma or a BTEC qualification. The programme is aimed to be tailored around each and every student, thus giving them the best chance of academic and sporting success.
