Durham Cricket partner with The Chloe And Liam Together Forever Trust for second year running

For the second year running, Durham Cricket are dedicating their T20 Blast fixture against Lancashire Lightning this Friday, 2 June, to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust.

The club, joined by visiting Lancashire will again pay tribute to Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry.

The Trust, established 6 years ago, following the passing of Chloe and Liam in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack, helps young people living in the North East to reach their potential in the fields of sport and performance by granting bursaries and supporting organisations in these areas.

Chloe was a talented performer and Liam a skilled cricketer and there will be performances in their honour at the game on Friday. Artists who benefit from the charity will perform on the stage in the clubs new Fan Zone and on the pitch for the crowd before the game.

Volunteers will be fundraising at the game to help towards the continuing legacy of the charity and fans can also text to donate and donate online.

Durham Cricket Marketing Director, David Jackson, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the Trust again. The connection to the club through Cricket and entertainment is a great fit with our Club and fans and hopefully we can help to raise funds and awareness so they can continue their fantastic work in the local community.”

Liam’s mam Caroline Curry said: “One of our proudest days as a family was watching Liam play for Durham when he was youngster, so to have Durham Cricket Club support the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust in this way, words can not even describe what it means to us as a trust but also to me personally.

“Liam was a passionate cricketer and Chloe always supported him, so for the Trust to be able to help young cricketers to follow their dreams is wonderful to watch.  We’ve helped teams with kit and helped clubs put their junior players through their coaching badges – hopefully one day we will be able to say we have helped the next Ben Stokes or Mark Wood to reach their full potential.

“We would like to thank David Jackson, Durham Cricket Club for once again supporting the Trust, we would also like to thank Lancashire Cricket Club for their support for this fixture again this year – it really does mean the world to us to have the support of both teams.”

Durham Cricket v Lancashire Lightening in aid of the Liam and Chloe Together Forever Trust take place this Friday at 6.30pm. Gates open from 1.30pm with the Northern Diamonds taking on Blaze at 2.30pm. Tickets for the day give you access to both games and are available for just £16.50 and £5 for children in advance.
