Durham Cricket to run a free Groundstaff Workshop

Durham Cricket Groundstaff Association is holding a free groundstaff workshop covering pitch renovation during the season.

The evening, run in partnership with Northumberland Cricket Board, will take place at Whickham Cricket Club on Thursday, 30th June at 6.30pm – 9.00pm.

The event will run as a pilot for the Grounds Management Association and will be led by GMA’s Andrew Welsby and ECB Pitch Advisor Martin Stephenson.

This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand the outfield and square renovation work undertaken at a recreational cricket ground, while getting advice on common challenges groundstaff may face at grassroots level.

If the event is successful, Durham Cricket Groundstaff Association plan to add new venues across the county and aspire to run a number of workshops.

We invite anyone with an interest in groundwork, whether a complete beginner or someone with years of experience, to join us.
