Durham Cricket to thank key workers during Essex One Day Cup game

Durham Cricket are set to give key workers free tickets to come and watch them in action in the Royal London One Day Cup this summer.

Durham play last season’s County Champions Essex in a one day game on Sunday 8 August at Emirates Riverside and key workers can come and enjoy the game with family and friends free of charge.

Anyone defined as a key worker can claim up to four free tickets to bring family or friends along to the game and enjoy a fun summers day out.

Durham Cricket Chief Executive, Tim Bostock,said: “Everyone at Durham cricket and across the region appreciates that our key workers kept this country going through the pandemic, because of them, many lives were saved and protected, and this is a small gesture from the club to recognise and thank them for their efforts.

“Hopefully some of them can come for a fun day out and enjoy a few hours of cricket in the sun with family and friends.”

The game will start at 11am with gates opening at 10am and will finish at around 6pm, but people are welcome to come and go as they please throughout the day. Food and drink will be available on site and the Sticky Wicket pub will be open.

Tickets must be booked in advance and can be ordered via the clubs website using code Keyworkers21 or by calling the box office on 0191 3871717.  To claim your free tickets you must be logged in and have a Durham Cricket account.
