Durham Cricket hosted another successful Hall of Fame evening, introducing three new inductees at the annual dinner.
Michael Di Venuto, Alan Walker and Graham Onions were all inducted on Thursday evening, making Durham’s Hall of Fame 12 members strong.
Michael Di Venuto was the first to be inducted with a five-year career in the North East that will forever go down as successful. The Australian joined in 2007 and scored over 6,000 runs in five years at the club.
The second inductee was Alan Walker, a club stalwart having spent 30 years at Durham as a player and a coach. Walker joined in 1994 and broke the Durham record for wickets in a match with 14/177 against Essex, holding the record for 19 years until 2014.
A product of the Durham Cricket Academy, Graham Onions became the third inductee of the night. In a fantastic career, he went on to take 527 wickets to surpass Simon Brown as the club’s leading first-class wicket-taker until 2021, as well as representing England.
The inductees were presented with commemorative caps at the packed-out event at Seat Unique Riverside; which included a message from Michael Di Venuto.
