Durham are back on the road when they take on Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in the LV=Insurance County Championship, starting tomorrow [20 April]
Durham Head Coach, Ryan Campbell has named a 13-player squad for round 3 as Durham look to make it back-to-back wins in the County Championship.
Brydon Carse returns to the 13-player squad having been rested last week for the Worcestershire fixture, while Liam Trevaskis is back in the fold.
Jonathan Bushnell suffered a wrist injury on day 4 against Worcestershire and is not available for selection, while Brandon Glover drops out of the 13 having injured his shoulder during this week’s 2XI Championship match at Woolpit Cricket Club against Essex.
Durham currently sit second in the LV=Insurance County Championship Division 2 table after two rounds of games. Round 2 was Glamorgan’s free week in the County Championship with the Welsh side drawing their opening game against Gloucestershire.
Words from Scott Borthwick
“It’s another bus journey on Wednesday. We’re excited about the challenge. We didn’t let the Sussex defeat bother us; we knew that we were doing the right thing. Our attitude has got to be bang on and it has been this week. We’ve got to go to Glamorgan with that same mindset to win a game of cricket.”
“Matt said that Marnus is one of his best mates. When Kuhney signed, Marnus gave him a notebook on every county cricketer. It shows the detail that Marnus goes into. It’s a good challenge for us. That’s the beauty of county cricket playing against these Test stars. We’re itching to beat them and keep our momentum going.”
“We outplayed them last year over the three days we had down there, but the snow we had on day one stopped the result. It is a ground that we like playing on, it’s a good Test venue.”
