Durham heading to Zimbabwe for pre-season

Durham Cricket have now confirmed their 2020 pre-season tour, with the squad heading to Zimbabwe next Thursday, with a focus on red ball cricket ahead of the County Championship season.

The Durham Cricket squad will be based in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe and will spend seventeen days compromising of matches and warm weather training.

The squad will fly out on Thursday 12 March where they will compete in two three-day fixtures against Chairman’s XI at Harare Sports Club, in addition to fixtures against local opposition.

Marcus North, Director of Cricket said: “We are extremely excited to be heading to Zimbabwe for our pre-season tour after receiving an invitation from Zimbabwe Cricket.

“Our players and staff will gain valuable experience along with match preparation against quality international opposition leading into our summer.

“As our successful winter training is coming to a close this tour will provide fantastic preparation for the lads.”
