Durham Lancashire Emirates Trophy Up for Grabs

The Dynamos commence their Friends Life t20 campaign tomorrow evening at Emirates Durham ICG taking on the Lancashire Lightning.

The two sides will not only battle it out for an opening round victory but will also be playing for the Durham Lancashire Emirates Trophy.

New for 2013, the trophy has been introduced to celebrate Emirates’ partnership with the two clubs and their home grounds.

Emirates have been a sponsor of the Durham Dynamos since 2009 and in 2010 was integral in the historic re-naming of Durham’s Riverside ground to the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground.

The Trophy will be contested each time the two t20 sides face each other and an Emirates Skywards Player of the Series award will also be presented to the most deserving player after the return match at Lancashire’s home ground, Emirates Old Trafford, on 14th July.

On the field, Durham will be looking to carry on with their good form from the LV=County Championships and Yorkshire Bank 40 and be a threat in the shorter format this season.

Winning England World T20 Skipper Paul Collingwood will lead the Dynamos side this season which includes the likes of recently selected England T20 squad member Ben Stokes and the reliable batting duo of Phil Mustard and Mark Stoneman.

The in-form Graham Onions will not be available for the Dynamos first two matches due to England selection in their 4-day LV=Challenge match against  Essex commencing on Sunday 30th June at The Essex County Ground.

Young spinner Ryan Buckley has also been ruled out after rolling his ankle at training this week.
