For their first game in the north east this season Durham County Cricket Club face local rivals Yorkshire CCC in a two day friendly, starting this Sunday (1 April), at Emirates Durham ICG.
Durham CCC Head Coach Geoff Cook has named a strong thirteen man squad for the fixture including seamer Stephen Harmison and all rounder Paul Collingwood. Mark Stoneman, Will Smith and Gordon Muchall will be looking to continue their form from the pre season tour as Ruel Brathwaite lines up with the side for the first time this season.
Durham CCC is holding Open Days at Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground for both days for this fixture giving the region the chance to come and enjoy the first day of our 2012 season as well as behind the scenes tours.
Gates open at 9.00am. Admission is free. Tours will run from 11.00am until 4.00pm.
Durham CCC Chief Executive, David Harker, said, “We’re opening our gates this weekend to welcome our members and supporters back to the club for the start of a brand new season but also to encourage those people that have never been before to come and take a look around.
“Visitors can sit, relax and enjoy the cricket as well as taking the chance to take a look around the venue which is a popular host of weddings, events and meetings. Our media centre
