Day 1, Second XI Championship: Yorkshire 134/3
Durham take three wickets on a rain-effected opening day of the ECB Second XI Championship match against Yorkshire at Burnopfield Cricket Club.
After ground conditions ruled out any play in the morning session Ben McKinney won the toss at Burnopfield and inserted Yorkshire into bat.
There was no early breakthrough for Durham as the visitors shared a 63-run opening partnership. Mitchell Killeen struck first as he had Finlay Bean edge into the gloves of Haydon Mustard in the 16th over.
Will Luxton and James Wharton then combined for a 44-run stand. The latter was removed by a remarkable diving grab from George Drissell off his own bowling.
Soon after, Charlie Scorer took his first wicket in just his second over, Luxton caught by McKinney at slip on the stroke of tea with Yorkshire 113 for three.
The rain then arrived at Burnopfield and play was halted after 42.4 overs with Yorkshire closing the opening day on 134/3.
