Chester le Street will once again be the focus of sport in the North East next summer as Durham Cricket bring international cricket to the region once again.

World Champions England will take on South Africa in a must-see clash at Seat Unique Riverside on Tuesday 19 July, 2022. The game will be the opening match of what is sure to be a highly competitive three game Royal London Series.

With the appetite for international cricket growing in the North East, the game will be a sell-out, and the club are urging members and supporters to take note of the priority windows and sign up for the ballot to ensure they don’t miss out.

Durham Chief Executive, Tim Bostock, said “We have had sell-out crowds for the last eight internationals in Durham with last years game selling out in record time despite the threat of Covid cancelations. Cricket is embedded in the communities of the North East and our members and fans continue to astound us with their support of the club and appetite for international cricket.”

“It’s fantastic to bring World Class cricket to the region again in 2022 and we hope it will help grow the sport and deliver a fantastic summers day out for everyone to look forward to.”

The club is providing a Ticket Refund Promise which will ensure purchasers will receive a full refund should the fixture be cancelled or moved to an alternative date that does not suit the customer due to any uncertainty around Covid-19.

Durham Cricket members will receive priority access to tickets and £5 off with their 2022 membership, which is available to buy now.

Tickets will go on general sale from Tuesday 19 October but there are a number of priority windows available to fans and everyone can sign up to the ballot now. Last years international sold out via the ballot and did not get to general sale so anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to sign up to the ballot today.
