After restricting the hosts to 149-7, Ben Raine taking two wickets, the Dynamos reached their target with eight wickets and nine balls to spare.
Ben Stokes led the way with a commanding 59 not out off 33 balls, including five sixes and three fours, while Ian Blackwell finished unbeaten on 34 off 35 balls. The pair shared an unbroken third wicket stand of 92.
After their semi-final defeat to Sussex, in which the Dynamos suffered a damaging batting collapse, they responded to clinch their second victory of the tour after yesterday’s 40-over win against the Combined Universities.
Stokes also struck with the ball after the hosts had elected to bat, as did Chris Rushworth, Liam Plunkett and Gareth Breese.
Phil Mustard then got Durham off to a flying start in reply with 27 off 14 balls before England one-day man Stokes and Blackwell, who links up with the MCC squad later this weekend for the champion county fixture, finished the job.
