Durham are on the road for the final time this season, facing Surrey at The Oval in the penultimate 2024 County Championship fixture, starting at 10:30am today.
Ryan Campbell has named a 14-player squad to take on the Three Feathers which includes Emilio Gay, James Minto, Stanley McAlindon and Mitchell Killeen.
Gay is in line to make his Durham debut, having signed on loan from Northamptonshire ahead of his permanent signing. This comes after Scott Borthwick was ruled out for the remainder of the season with an elbow injury.
Minto could make his first-class bow, having been named in previous squads against Somerset and Lancashire whilst Ben Raine misses out due to the imminent birth of his child.
Matthew Potts is due to meet up with England’s white ball squad and Paul Coughlin remains out with an elbow injury suffered during the Metro Bank One Day Cup. Coughlin played club cricket for Hetton Lyons on Saturday as he makes a good recovery following his injury,
McAlindon returns to contention following his recovery from an ankle injury whilst Killeen could also make his first-class debut.
Durham sit fifth in the County Championship, one point away from mathematical safety in division one after victory over Lancashire whereas Surrey have an eight point lead in first, after defeat to second-placed Somerset.

Words from Ryan Campbell
It was an unbelievable effort really (against Lancashire), I thought what we brought to the table was Durham at its very best. We saw some of the greatest that’s ever been; David Bedingham with the highest ever score, highest ever partnership with (Colin) Ackermann and then Matthew Potts with a career best today.
David Bedingham has to be one of the best batters in the world at the moment, he just loves to keep going on and on. He is a wonderful player and we are lucky he’s a Durham lad.
We needed someone to be lion-hearted, that’s what we spoke about before the game and it doesn’t surprise me that it was Matthew Potts who delivered. Getting the ball out of his hand during a spell like that is impossible.
We now go to the Oval this week, we know we have some injuries and know we are going to miss some players, but we are full of confidence and ready to go.
