Emily Windsor swaps Hampshire for Durham in three-year Durham deal

Durham Cricket are delighted to announce the signing of Emily Windsor on a three-year deal until the end of the 2027 campaign.

A right-handed middle order batter, Windsor has over 2500 runs to her name in both white ball formats with 13 half-centuries, featuring in close to 200 matches.

Born in Portsmouth, the 27-year-old progressed through the Hampshire pathway, before making her professional debut in 2020 with the Southern Vipers.

Following her maiden List A debut against Sunrisers, Windsor has gone onto feature for Oval Invincibles, Welsh Fire and Trent Rockets in the Hundred.

A proven winner, Windsor was part of the Southern Vipers side which won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy three times in four years as well as lifting The Hundred with Oval Invincibles in 2022.

She showed her mettle when she took the Vipers over the line in the 2021 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy final with a crucial knock of 47* to anchor their chase of 184 in victory over Northern Diamonds.

The 27-year-old enjoyed her most fruitful campaign in 2023, accumulating 408 runs across 11 innings scoring four fifties, including an unbeaten 57 in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy final victory over The Blaze.

On joining Durham, Windsor said: “Since communication started with Marcus and Dani, the club values at Durham stood out to me.

“In particular both the ambitious nature and the family feel is evident. I am super excited to be part of this new era of women’s cricket both on and off the field in the North East.

“Personally, I am looking forward to see where a fresh challenge will take my game across both formats and working with some new coaches and teammates.”

Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “We are extremely pleased to have recruited such an experienced player in Emily Windsor to Durham.

“Her record at domestic level is very strong and is a proven winner as she has played her part in a number of trophy winning seasons for the Southern Vipers.

“From the initial discussions we had with Emily we knew instantly she would be a perfect fit for our squad at Durham. We look forward to supporting her growth as a player over the coming years.”
