Emirates T20 captain ends with MCC defeat

The Durham Jets’ Emirates T20 campaign finished with defeat to the MCC by six wickets.

After making 89/5 in ten overs following early morning rain at the ICC Academy, Ben Cox struck a quick 29 to send Durham to defeat.

Jack Burnham top-scored with 34 from 20 balls, including two sixes, while Gavin Main was the pick of the bowlers 2/14.

Following two warm-up fixtures, a victory over a UAE followed by defeat against Middlesex, Jon Lewis’ side began the tournament with defeat to Peshawar Zalmi.

The Pakistan outfit made 143/6, with Brydon Carse returning two wickets with Chris Rushworth, James Weighell & George Harding taking one apiece.

In reply, openers Paul Collingwood & Adam Hickey put on 59 for the first wicket before a mid-innings collapse left the Jets high and dry on 108.
