Durham Cricket are pleased to announce the signing of exciting all-rounder Emma Marlow on a two-year deal.
Marlow will join up with the Durham squad ahead of the 2025 season and provides options with both bat and ball, as the 20-year-old off-spinner approaches 20 wickets coupled with over 500 runs in white ball cricket.
A promising talent, Marlow earned a deal for Trent Rockets in The Hundred during her breakthrough 2022 season, continuing her rise with a call-up to England’s maiden Under 19s Word Cup squad, going onto feature twice in England’s route to the final in 2023.
Emerging from Yorkshire’s youth setup, Marlow played for Northern Diamonds Academy, including stints at captain, before she became part of the senior team in 2022, taking 14 wickets in her debut season.
A player with instant impact, Marlow mesmerised for the Diamonds on debut, securing best figures in both formats. She took 2-12 in the Charlotte Edwards Cup before taking 3-40 on her first appearance of their victorious Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy campaign.
Making huge progress with the bat in recent seasons, the 20-year-old has made huge strides this campaign, scoring an unbeaten 47 in the Charlotte Edwards Cup before notching a maiden half-century in victory over Central Sparks in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
On her move to Durham, Marlow said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Durham at the start of their journey as a professional women’s team, the last few years with Diamonds have been so special but I’m so excited to start a new chapter up North.
“From chatting with Marcus, the vision for the club and the team made it a clear choice to make the move to Durham.
“I’ve worked with Dani for the last few years and they’ve both been instrumental in my development I’m looking forward to continue working with them. As well as playing under Hollie as captain, who was brilliant throughout my time at Diamonds and always managed to bring the most out of me and the entire team.
“Hopefully we can create a similar team environment at Durham and bring success to the Club in these new competitions.”
Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “Emma is a really exciting young cricketer, who has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Northern Diamonds in 2024.
“At only 20 years-old, Emma already has several years of experience in domestic cricket, with the Hundred as well as internationally with England under 19’s.
“We look forward to welcoming Emma to Durham and supporting her ongoing journey and her continued development on and off the field.”
