International Cricket will return to Chester le Street as Durham Cricket confirm they have secured two international games at Seat Unique Riverside for 2023.
Both England’s men’s and women’s teams will play T20 international fixtures at the home of Durham Cricket next summer. England’s men’s team, fresh from the T20 World Cup in Australia, will take on tough opposition in the form of a strong New Zealand squad and England women will take on the rising stars of Sri Lanka.
- Wednesday 30 August 2023 – England Men v New Zealand – 6pm
- Saturday 9 September 2023 – England Women v Sri Lanka – 2.30pm
Both games are expected to be extremely popular with the last seven men’s international fixtures at Durham selling out and this year’s women’s game being the second most attended women’s international game in the country behind only the game at Lords.
Durham Cricket Chief Executive, Tim Bostock, said: “We are delighted to be bringing both men’s and women’s international sport back to the region. It was great to see another sell out when the men played here earlier in the year and the women’s game was extremely popular attracting a more diverse audience whom we hope will continue to come to games at Seat Unique Riverside.
“The games obviously have a huge economic benefit to the town and the wider region and bringing this level of international sport helps to inspire boys and girls across the north east to get involved in cricket.”
Durham Cricket members will receive priority access to tickets and £5 off with their membership – 2023 membership is available to buy now. Non-members who buy tickets for both games will receive £5 off their ticket for the women’s game.
Tickets will go on general sale from Tuesday 1 November but there are a number of priority windows available to fans and everyone can sign up to the ballot now. Last year’s international sold out via the ballot and did not get to general sale so anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to sign up to the ballot today.
