Franklin names first Specsavers County Championship squad

Lead High Performance Coach, James Franklin, has named his first 13-man squad of the season for the opening Specsavers County Championship match at Derbyshire.

The squad, captained by Alex Lees, left Emirates Riverside this morning for a final training session at the Pattonair County Ground this afternoon before the Specsavers County Championship begins.

Durham are going in search of their first win at the County Ground since the title-winning season of 2013, though they did win the four-day fixture at Chesterfield two seasons ago.

Ned Eckersley is included in his first Durham squad after penning a season-long deal earlier this week while Liam Trevaskis could make his second first-class appearance after

Cameron Steel misses out as he returns to full training following a concussion picked up during the pre-season tour of South Africa, while Cameron Bancroft is set to arrive in the country over the weekend.
