Durham Cricket is pleased to announce that George Drissell has signed a two-year contract extension with Durham.
Drissell will now remain with the club until at least the end of the 2026 season having joined Durham in 2021.
The 25-year-old who has featured for Durham in all formats joined the Club from Somerset having spent a number of years with Gloucestershire.
Drissell claimed List A best figures of 4/38 in Durham’s seven-run victory over Kent at Canterbury, leading the fightback in Durham’s defence of 307 – during the 2024 summer.
He went on to take seven wickets in five Metro Bank One Day Cup matches at an impressive average of 21.
The off spinner, also played in the County Championship and T20 Blast in 2024 picking up the wickets of Dawid Malan, Tom Lammonby and Craig Overton.
On signing his contract extension, Drissell said: “I’m delighted to be part of the club for another 2 years.
“I’ve loved my time at the club so far and can’t wait to be part of more success with the lads in the future!
“I’m excited to see what this group can achieve and hopefully I can play a part in it.”
Director of Cricket, Marcus North added: “George is a very popular member of our playing squad and is an incredibly talented off spin bowler.
