Graham Clark extends until 2025

Durham Cricket is thrilled to announce that Graham Clark has committed his future to the club, by signing a new deal at Seat Unique Riverside.

Clark, who has had his career rejuvenated under Ryan Campbell has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract, which will keep him in the north east until at least the end of the 2025 season.

A product of the Durham Cricket Academy, Clark has enjoyed a turnaround 2023 season which has seen impress in all three formats.

Despite only making seven red-ball appearances in four years, the right-hander has been a regular this season, playing in every County Championship fixture scoring 818 runs at an average of 58.43 notching his first century in six years in Durham’s charge back to Division 1.

His maiden first-class century came against Glamorgan in 2017 with the Cumbrian scoring a further three this year against Gloucestershire, Leicestershire and Sussex.

The 30-year-old has gone from strength-to-strength this year recording his first T20 century and continuing his white-ball form with three fifties in four innings in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

Clark has been a standout player for Durham at the top of the innings in the white-ball game, notably top-scoring in the One-Day Cup in Durham’s run to the final in 2021 with a staggering 646 runs in nine innings.

He has scored over 2220 T20 runs since his T20 debut in 2015, scoring 1841 in List A and 2444 in first-class cricket with a best of 128*.

On signing a new deal, Clark said: “I’m delighted to be committing my future to the club. I absolute love playing here, and I feel like we’re building something special as a group.

“I’d really like to thank all the members and fans for such kind words of support this year, the number of messages I’ve received has been unbelievable and I’m so grateful for each one.

“Thank you again to Ryan Campbell for backing me this season and for creating such a good environment for us all to play in. I’m excited to see what 2024 brings as we continue this journey together as a group.”

Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “This contract extension is testament to the fantastic season Graham has had for Durham in all formats.

“His red ball cricket has shone through hugely over the past 6 months, enabling Graham to establish a key role within our batting line up.

“The attacking style of cricket we have been playing has brought the best out of Graham, not only has he had a brilliant County Championship he has continued to impress in white ball cricket, including scoring his maiden T20 century earlier this season.”
