Harriet Robson stars in final ever fixtures for North East Warriors before Durham Women turn professional

Harriet Robson stars with bat and ball as North East Warriors play their final ever fixtures against Derbyshire at Rockliffe Park.

In the first of a T20 double-header, the Warriors chose to bat and made it to 33 for one before Adrianna Darlow’s pair of wickets sparked a batting collapse. Maria Andrews and Harriett Parkin finished with three wickets each as the Warriors were bowled out for 67.

Freya Rook took an early wicket in response but Lara Shaw (39*) and Megan Pittman (20*) saw Derbyshire to a nine-wicket victory inside nine overs.

The Warriors were put into the field second time around, with four runouts reducing Derbyshire to 74 for four. Emily Whiting bowled Erynn Crosby for 21 with Derbyshire on 85.

After a partnership of 31, Harriet Robson picked up two wickets, finishing her four overs with wickets in consecutive balls. Laura Trotter bowled Parkin for 32 in the final over as Derbyshire ended up 130/8 from their 20 overs.

The Warriors put in an improved display with the bat, making their way to 48 for three before a fourth wicket partnership of 63 between Robson and Ella Jackson had the hosts in a promising position.

Jackson fell run out for 26 in the seventeenth, sparking a constant loss of wickets with Mary Butler dismissed in the next over. Harriet Robson struck seven fours in a run-a-ball 49 but she was out in the penultimate over with 12 runs needed from 10 balls.

The Warriors finished 125/8, five runs short of Derbyshire’s total as Emma Thatcher claimed three wickets for the visitors.
