Durham Cricket Lead High Performance Coach James Franklin has named a 13 man squad for Durham’s Vitality Blast double header in the Midlands.
Durham travel to Worcestershire on Friday at 5:30pm to take on the Rapids before facing Birmingham Bears on Saturday at 2:30pm at Edgbaston.
17 year-old Academy cricketer Harry Crawshaw is named in a senior Durham squad for the first time, having impressed with the Seconds and Academy this summer, in addition to scoring 549 runs in the North Yorkshire South Durham League for Hartlepool.
Scotland fast bowler Ally Evans will remain with the Durham squad, having joined on loan last Sunday, however Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer is no longer included and will join back up with Scotland.
Durham have now reached the half way stage of the Vitality Blast season, sitting in 4th place in the North Group and with seven games to play, still have every chance of qualification to the Quarter Final stage.
The Ds have 9 points from their 7 games, two points behind Yorkshire Vikings in top spot and 1 behind Notts Outlaws who occupy the second spot. With the group looking immensely tight as we enter the final stages of the tournament.

Words from James Franklin
“We certainly weren’t at the races against Northamptonshire. I actually thought we got a competitive total in the end after a slow start. Sean Dickson and Cameron Bancroft played beautifully. We got blown out of the water in the powerplay. Rossington played very well as did Vasconcelos. It was very much a below-par performance from us from how we’ve been playing. We’ve been playing some good T20 cricket, but sometimes you have these games. The games come thick and fast so we have the chance to get back to winning ways.”
Match Centre
The Club’s match centre will be in operation for the fixtures with live scorecards, statistics & video highlights as they happen. You can watch the game live via the Birmingham Bears and Worcestershire Rapids YouTube channels.
