Harte signs, included in squad for Notts

Gareth Harte could make his Durham debut at Trent Bridge in tomorrow night’s Royal London One-Day Cup clash against the Notts Outlaws, live on Sky Sports (2pm start).

Harte, a top-order batsman, has signed a contract at Emirates Riverside until the end of the season after impressive performances for the Second XI.

The 24-year-old scored a destructive 183 for Neil Killeen’s side against Northants in the Championship game last week after making 50 in the pre-season friendly with Kent/Essex.

He has also played for the MCC Young Cricketers & is capable of batting anywhere in the top-order, though he could be in line to replace Stephen Cook in the playing XI.

The opener will miss tomorrow’s match at Notts & Sunday’s trip to the Worcestershire Rapids after being recalled by Cricket South Africa for activities in relation to his national team contract.

Jon Lewis also has Mark Wood to call on after receiving clearance following his involvement in England’s One-Day International series win over Ireland.

Wood took three wickets across two games on his international comeback & will come up against England team-mates Alex Hales & Jake Ball, who have been cleared to play for the Outlaws.

With the qualification places down to three per group in 2017, Durham know they need positive results from the final three games to put them in pole position.

The top three have already notched over 1,000 runs with four centuries between them, while James Weighell led the wicket-takers before today’s round of matches.

Like Durham, the Outlaws come into the fixture in exceptional form & have recorded three consecutive victories.

The match starts at 2pm & live TV coverage is available on Sky Sports, with radio commentary also available via the BBC Sport website.
