Hollie Armitage to captain England A during 50 over games in Australia

The two white-ball captains for England Women A’s tour of Australia have been confirmed, with Durham’s Hollie Armitage set to lead the 50 over team.

Armitage, who has also been named Durham captain for the upcoming season, will captain the 50-over group for the three matches taking place at Cricket Central.

Former England Women U19 and current Essex captain Grace Scrivens will lead the T20 group at Hurstville Oval.

A captain for the four-day match will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Danielle Gibson has returned home from the England Women A tour of Australia after scans revealed a stress fracture in her back.

Gibson has been suffering with back pain and had a scan in Sydney.

She has returned to the UK for further review before starting her rehabilitation with ECB and Somerset medical teams.

Essex’s Eva Gray will join the four-day England Women A squad as a replacement for Gibson. Gray will fly to Australia at the conclusion of Essex’s pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi.
