Honours were even at Harrogate Cricket Club as Durham Seconds won one and lost one against Yorkshire in two T20 friendlies ahead of the 2XI T20 North Group competition which shortly gets underway.
In game one Durham won the toss and elected to bowl with the hosts getting off to a flyer.
Will Luxton top scored for Yorkshire with 58 from 49 balls which included 7 fours backed by 46 from Jonathan Tattersall in 33 balls with 6 fours.
Stanley McAlindon claimed 2/27 while George Furrer and Jonathan Bushnell bagged one apiece, as Yorkshire scored 180 from their 20 overs with Tom Kholder-Cadmore (23) and Matthew Waite (33) both contributing.
Durham got off to a quick start in reply with Graham Clark hitting a 9 ball 22 with 1 4 and 2 sixes but lost 6 wickets for 73 and soon found themselves 116/6.
Michael Jones top scored with 44 and despite being in a bit of trouble when 6 down, George Drissell (27), Luke Doneathy (20) and Jamie Crawley (23) almost got Durham close.
However with 10 needed off the final over 9 wickets down, Durham couldn’t get over the line with Yorkshire winning by 5 runs.
Jack Shutt was the pick of the Yorkshire bowlers as he struck with 5/25 from 4 overs.
In the second game of the day Durham pipped Yorkshire by 21 runs.
Durham won the toss and elected to bat, but struggled at 59/5 as Harris Sullivan and Clarke Doughney struck.
Ben McKinney top scored with 45 backed by Jonathan Bushnell (25) and Mitchell Killeen (26) to take Durham up to 137 all out from 20 overs.
Clarke Doughney was the pick of the Yorkshire bowlers with 4/16 from 4.
In reply Yorkshire, like Durham, lost early wicket and were reduced to 88/6 as George Furrer starred with the ball claiming 4/17 from 4 overs, with Killeen and McAlindon both striking.
Jack Wharton (36) and Tom Loten (23) top scored but Durham restricted the hosts to 116/7, winning by 21 runs. Durham are back in action against Yorkshire on Wednesday in two T20s at Harrogate Cricket Club.
