Jonathan Bushnell scores back to back half centuries in T20 win and loss over Derbyshire

Jonathan Bushnell scored back to back half centuries for Durham Seconds as they won one and lost one against Derbyshire in the ECB 2XI T20 at Emirates Riverside.

Harry Crane scored a superb 113 from 54 balls with 14 fours and five sixes to guide Derbyshire to 210/3 in game one. Durham won the toss and asked the visitors to bat, picking up the wicket of Tom Wood early as he mistimed the ball into the hands of Liam Trevaskis off the bowling of Oli Gibson.

Mattie McKiernan (29) Fynn Hudson-Prentice (27) and Leus du Plooy (26) all contributed for Derbyshire supporting Crane throughout the Derbyshire innings.

Oli Gibson claimed all three wickets to fall, as Derbyshire scored a huge 210 from their 20 overs.

Durham started well in reply, adding 77 for the first wicket, as Graham Clark was caught for 39.

Bushnell and Sean Dickson added 59 for the third wicket before Dickson hit out to Leus du Plooy.

Bushnell top scored with 70 from 52 balls with 9 fours and despite 18* from Stuart Poynter and 16* from Harry Crawshaw, Durham closed on 182/4, as Derbyshire won by 28 runs.

In game 2, Bushnell continued where he left off with another half century, chasing down 151 set by Derbyshire.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, with Tom Wood the top scorer for Derbyshire with 41 in 33 balls with six fours. The right hander was supported by 25 from Nils Priestley, as they were bowled out for 151 in 19.4 overs.

Graham Clark (2-21), Liam Trevaskis (2-24) and Oli Gibson (2-25) all shared two wickets apiece with Luke Doneathy and Ul-Haq picking up one each.

In reply, a half century from Bushnell and an unbeaten 46 from Sean Dickson saw Durham to victory in 16.4 overs, Graham Clark adding 24.

Melton, McKiernan and Scrimshaw all took one wicket for Derbyshire.
